The engine produces 403 pound-feet of torque at 3,600 rpm [1] thanks in part to dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (dual VVT-i) which monitors the engine's speed and load, increasing torque at lower speeds for improved towing power and boosts performance at higher speeds by adjusting intake and exhaust valve timing.

This engine features 32 valves and chain-driven Dual Overhead Camshafts (DOHC) leading to long-term durability and efficiency. An aluminum block keeps the engine lighter, helping to improve efficiency even further.
