Lexus LS 460
Our first choice of seats in any vehicle has always been the one behind the steering wheel. But the LS 460 has changed that. This Lexus simply coddles its occupants--particularly those in the rear seat--better than any other car in the class of '07. The long-wheelbase model offers a rear seat that reclines like a leather Barcalounger--complete with a plush ottoman, two types of massage, and heating and cooling. Settle back, power down the window shades and watch your favorite DVD on the 9-in. screen in full 19-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound; it's a home theater on wheels. But, unlike many other ultraluxury rides, the new car destroys the previous model's reputation as a road-going cream puff. Instead, this all-new chassis can hold the road with the same poise as its German rivals. This is the first Lexus flagship that's actually fun to drive fast. And fast it is. The LS debuts several new technologies, including an advanced parking guidance system that parks the big car practically by itself. Next year, the LS 600h arrives as the most powerful hybrid-electric passenger vehicle on the market. Base price: $65,000 (est.).
